Las Vegas, New Mexico

Las Vegas and San Miguel County are located in scenic northern New Mexico.  Las Vegas can be found sixty miles from Santa Fe, one hundred twenty miles from Albuquerque, and seventy miles from Taos.  Scenic beauty, eclectic Victorian and northern New Mexico architecture, a growing community and interesting people combine to make Las Vegas and the surrounding area a favorite for both families and adventurous singles and couples.  More than nine hundred buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  The National Register of Historic Places, The Citizens Committee for Historic Preservation, and the Santa Fe Trail Interpretive Center actively promote and showcase the history and architecture of a town that has hosted a variety of bad guys and good guys over the years.  The terrain around Las Vegas and across San Miguel and Mora counties is a combination of rolling hills, mountains and valleys, mesas and canyons, marshes and green belts. Mild temperatures and low humidity make for moderately warm summers with cool evenings.  The high desert air is dry, clear and clean.  The sun shines most days and skies are clear and star-filled almost every night.
